Preventing recirculation makes sense in case of overwatering, overfertilization or if you want to water yourself instead of using water recirculation.
It would be best to divert the water hoses into a container and empty it regularly. If you don’t want that, you can also use the water bowl as a “container”. But ATTENTION: The water bowl must be emptied regularly and the handling is not quite as practical as with a container, as you also have to take the plants out of the cupboard to empty the bowl.
