Basically, you only have to water every few weeks. Here we described how.
Watering management: In general, the water requirements of the plants depend on their size and variety. Therefore, irrigation management is considered a rough guideline. If the substrate is very dry on the surface, it is time to water. This also applies to watering cuttings. This principle can be used for watering. Lift the pot out of the lower bowl, pour about 100ml, wait 20 seconds, stop the water dripping, otherwise pour 100ml and wait 20 seconds until the water drips out of the bottom of the pot. With Fridge Grow, it can take up to 3 weeks before watering again.
ALTERNATIVE:
You can also stick your index finger halfway into the substrate next to the plant. If it is dry, water. If it is damp, you can still wait.
Dry your fingers, then water.
Fingers wet -> do not water anymore.
We recommend lifting the pots before and after watering to get a feel for the water content in the substrate. Over time, you will get to know the system so well that you can do the casting according to an individual scheme.
CAUTION: Overwatering is the most common mistake and should therefore be avoided. Until you are familiar with the system and the plants, it is better to water smaller quantities several times instead of overwatering the plants.
If the plants are nevertheless overwatered (wet substrate for a longer period of time), we recommend not hanging the water hoses in the pots for 1-2 days and putting them in the intended device of the cover. Instructions for this can be found under “Prevent water recirculation”.
